Planning for The End of ISDN Telephone Services

4 minute read

BT Openreach is switching off its traditional ISDN Network in 2025. What is more, this year it was announced that they will begin to phase out the sale of new ISDN services, including additional capacity to existing systems across the UK. This means if you are currently using ISDN for your business, you are going to have to migrate your service onto an Internet-based connection.

Making the move sooner rather than later will ensure you chose the right solution and will also mean you have no loss of service or productivity when the network is switched off.

Why hosted VOIP?

In simple terms this is a cloud-based telephone system that replace your legacy onsite equipment and can deliver many additional business advantages.

Cost savings: a hosted solution means that you don’t need to invest in new hardware. We handle all the upgrades and maintenance for you- these are automatic and included in our pricing. Subscription based billing means you know your call costs up front.

Easy migration is possible if planned early. We will help you retain your numbers and minimise downtime so your business is not disrupted.

Flexibility: hosted VoIP can easily scale with your business. Assigning licenses is easy so you only pay for what you want when you need it. We offer complete flexibility in terms of devices. You can use a fixed handset or download the software onto your mobile device or computer and use these to make and receive calls. This avoids having to have different home and work phones, as call settings can be managed directly from the portal using the device.

Future proof: our hosted phone system has an advanced set of call features: Call recording, IVR, call transfer, call centre functionality, call queuing, video conferencing, Microsoft Teams integration and much more. As technology evolves, you get new features added automatically. You can locate your staff anywhere, in remote or home offices. If your business moves, you don’t need to worry – simply access the system via your new site’s Internet connection.

ISDN is end of life technology; support and maintenance services are no longer available. We have a range of solutions ready to ensure you avoid downtown and remain competitive and responsive.

Avoid being caught in the bottleneck of last-minute migrations.
